Preschool Religious Education

Sunday Mornings 11:00 A.M. to Noon in the St. Matthias School

3 Year Olds

This preschool religious readiness program is designed to help young children from ages three to four to develop positive self concepts. It is only as children become aware of the good about themselves and the world around them that they can begin to learn about a good, loving, and caring God. The development of positive self-concepts also serves as a foundation for developing the Christian attitudes of loving, helping, and sharing.

4 Year Olds

This religious education program is designed to help young children at the pre-kindergarten level to discover their special qualities and importance in God’s creation. The primary focus of the program is to assist them in developing positive self concepts through an awareness that God has made each of them very special.  Their positive self-concepts are supportive foundations for developing the Christian attitudes of loving, helping, sharing and also for developing a relationship with a loving God.

Kindergarten

This religious education program aims to help kindergarten children develop a positive sense of their own self-worth. Young children must first come to appreciate themselves before they can come to appreciate God. Their ability to know God and their ideas of God are strongly influenced by their ideas of themselves. Every child is someone special.
